The Family Practice of Photography
One of the aspects of medicine that I most cherished was taking care of generations of the same family. As the years passed, more quickly than I care to remember, I found myself seeing patients that had grown from childhood to adulthood. Just as their parents had introduced them to me, they introduced me to their children. Getting to know people on an intimate and personal level, and having them confide and trust in you, is one of the most rewarding things that I can imagine.

As a family practice doctor, my role was to make people “feel better”.
As a family practice photographer, ironically, my role is also to make people feel better, by having them look the best they can.
Taking care of women during pregnancy was always a gratifying and fulfilling experience. I found it to be one of the most joy-filled times in a woman’s life.

One obtains an equivalent level of satisfaction photographing a woman during her pregnancy. I first met Lorena when she was 23 weeks pregnant. I had the privilege and honor to photograph her on multiple occasions throughout the course of her pregnancy. This week I was fortunate enough to take images of the “entire family”: Lorena, her husband, newborn son, and dog.

The pictures speak for themselves.
